Aubrey Sholty

Program Director

Hello! My name is Aubrey Sholty, and I serve as a Program Director at WESCO. I joined the team in May 2023 as the Program Coordinator for The WAVE and have since expanded my role to include Adult Day Services and co-oversight of Site 4. These opportunities have deepened my commitment to WESCO’s mission and strengthened my leadership experience across programs.
I hold a degree in Social Work and Education with an emphasis in Special Education from the University of South Dakota.
I’m currently participating in the LeadingAge Iowa Leadership Academy and represent WESCO in the Adult Day Advocacy Workgroup, which includes two teams: Educate and Empower, focused on supporting adult day centers across the state, and Policy and Partnerships, which develops strategies to share this work with legislators and advocates.
I also helped establish a partnership with Crawford County Memorial Hospital to bring physical therapy to NOVA twice weekly and am currently implementing WAVE 2.0, a smaller-group service model designed to better support member needs.
Outside of work, I live on an acreage south of Ida Grove with my husband Mitchell and our two children, Braxton and Brinley. I enjoy being outdoors, spending time with family and friends, and staying involved in the community

Seeing so many individuals succeed in life and being able to transition back into the community is the best part of my job. - WESCO Industries Employee
They can't tell you when you start this job there may come a time where you find you're more comfortable surrounded by people with developmental disabilities than when you are with the general population. But it happens. - WESCO Industries Employee
Until someone has had their own experience with someone with a developmental disability, they just won't understand. - WESCO Industries Employee
